5 Tourist Spots You Can’t Miss in Puri!
1. Jagannath Temple: This ancient temple is the pride of Puri and is the main attraction for pilgrims and tourists alike. Built in the 12th century, this temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath and is one of the four most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites. The annual Rath Yatra is a major event here, when Lord Jagannath, along with his brother and sister, is taken out in a grand procession.
2. Puri Beach: This stunning beach is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. It is one of the cleanest beaches in India and is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. You can also indulge in exciting beach activities like parasailing, scuba diving and beach volleyball.
3. Konark Sun Temple: This 13th century temple is dedicated to the Sun God, Surya, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The intricate carvings on the walls and the majestic structure of the temple will leave you in awe.
4. Nandankanan Zoological Park: This is the first zoo in India to be recognized as a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It is home to a wide variety of animals, including white tigers, lions, elephants and rhinos. The park also has a mini train ride and a safari park, which is fun for all ages.
